Andrea Siradze - Concert Master
“I love being surrounded by people who make music because they enjoy it. I will continue to surround myself with such people”.
After her Vancouver studies Andrea moved to Germany, where from 1992-96 she was concertmaster of the Orchester Akademie Hamburg and lead the orchestra in numerous performances of larger symphonies and chamber orchestra concerts. Andrea’s focus was contemporary music, and two special performances that celebrated the 60th birthdays of both Alfred Schnittke and Arvo Part, who were present at the rehearsals, highlighted her stay abroad.
She is a member of the Vancouver Opera Orchestra and Lions Gate Sinfonia. Andrea’s loves are many and include spending time with her family, playing tennis, going swimming and walking her dog in the nearby forest in North Vancouver. Of her future Andrea says, “I’m very happy to be doing everything I’m doing, I wouldn’t change a thing. I’m happy to just play – this is what I want.”
